This winter, Junior Style’s Editor-in-Chief, Aleksandra Ataca, and three of the magazine’s Kid Ambassadors visited Playtime & Kid’s New York to create a styling experience on the last day of the show. For the Junior Style reportage this season, Aleksandra wanted the ambassadors to select the products that really resonated with them. So, Eva, Haven, and Angelica stopped at several brand’s booths to make their selection and explore the trends on display. The twin photographers Ilaria and Silvia then captured these moments on camera.

This kid-led editorial turned the spotlight to several key trends spotted by Aleksandra, Eva, Haven, and Angelica. Chosen from the hundreds of kids’ fashion and lifestyle collections on display, let’s discover the trends they loved!

Bold & bright

One of the first trends Aleksandra and the girls spotted was comfortable silhouettes and soft textures in bold colors! Seen in collections from brands like Ao76 and The Sunday Collective, they loved the endless layering possibilities offered by these brands. Versatile thanks to the silhouettes, fabrics, and the bright color palettes, these pieces can be worn in warm or cold climates depending on how they’re styled and layered.

Pastel Tulles

The delicate patterns and pastel palettes in C’era una volta’s dreamy new collection was another trend they saw! They loved that the princess-like silhouettes could be dressed up or down to adapt to individual styles. Aleksandra decided to pair them with cool boots from TWIMC to give them a bit of edginess. Eva, Angelica, and Haven also loved how comfortable these beautiful pieces are!

Unique & chic

Molo and Paade Mode, who both won Junior Style Awards last year, were two of their other favorites! Aleksandra and the girls absolutely loved Molo’s fluffy white jacket, while the tailoring at Paade Mode stood out for its sophistication. One of Aleksandra’s favorite pairings was Molo’s blue corduroy pants and ruffle top. She found that it was the perfect example of the brand’s versatility and wide offer. Paade Mode’s effortless way of merging style codes from high-end fashion and casual wear to create looks that are contemporary and elegant was another trend they loved this season.

Cottagecore

The last collection that caught the eyes of Aleksandra, Eva, Angelica, and Haven was the latest from Bebe Organic! The collection featured the ever-popular cottagecore trend which is found in sweet motifs, quilting, and pastel colors. This, paired with vintage charm and shabby-chic details, had all the girls falling in love– which was perfect given the collection’s focus on heart motifs! They loved that while the products were stunning, they remained practical, allowing for children to be children while staying stylish.

Thank you to Aleksandra for sharing this Junior Style reportage with us, and to Eva, Haven, and Angelica for their great selection! From bold colors for winter to cottagecore, these trends were spotted by four experts. We love how Aleksandra let the girls lead the styling, giving these little trendsetters the choice to make their selection of products that spoke to them. With children as the final customers we’re all aiming to please, it’s important to get their feedback and see what catches their eye!
