The teen market is the talk of the town, or at least of the kids’ fashion and lifestyle industry! As an age group that’s notoriously narrow and can be challenging to reach, it’s unique. We’ve explored this ever-evolving sector before, diving into the trends of today’s teens and where they look for shopping inspiration. In this article, we also explored how some brands are connecting with them. Now, let’s turn our attention to retailers and how they are reaching this part of the market. To do so, we checked out and spoke with some of the retailers in our community that have dedicated teen offers in their stores.

Whether coming to Playtime Paris, Playtime & Kid’s Hub New York, or shopping all year on OrderWizz, the buyers from these stores have sections just for teens. Making up a wonderful part of our international community, we wanted to see how they reach them. Let us introduce you to their stores, the brands in their teen offer, and some insights they have observed.

Klade

(The United States)

kid's - teen store

Klade Children’s Boutique is dedicated to curating a unique selection of fashion-forward apparel, accessories, and lifestyle products for kids of all ages. They put a particular emphasis on meeting the evolving styles of teens and young adults. With a focus on brands that balance quality and individuality, Klade helps their customers express their own unique style through thoughtfully chosen collections.

In their store, they find it especially important to have a separate section for teens. This crucial stage is when teens develop their own identities that are distinct from both kids and adults. According to the buyer at Klade, Chavy, a dedicated teen offer gives them products that resonate with their evolving tastes and priorities. This allows teens to explore their personal style in a way that feels authentic and age-appropriate. “It’s also a way for us to make teens feel seen, fostering a connection with Klade as they grow,” says Chavy.

“At Klade, our teen clientele gravitates toward brands that blend comfort with style and follow the current trends without sacrificing quality,” she observes. She told us that brands like Indee, Unlabel, Luna Mae, Little Creative Factory, and Tia Ciabani are particularly popular for their inclusive sizing, versatile designs, and sustainable materials, all of which uphold values that align with what many teens prioritize today.

Shop them there: Tangerine, C’era una volta, Morley, Paade Mode, Ao76, Designers Remix Girls, Unlabel, Atelier Parsmei, The New Society

Nook

(Switzerland)

Nook is a boutique and online store located in a stylish hideout in the heart of Zurich. It is owned and run by two friends, Nina and Lea, who carefully curate a selection of fashion and accessories for kids and teens ages 2 to 16. At Nook, they select brands that create high quality collections season after season. Attaching great importance to a wide variety with a blend of classics and trendy pieces, they never neglect functionality. Since day one, Nina and Lea have been in the store daily to advise their customers.

When curating their teen selection, it is important for them to offer high quality pieces, as they do with every age group offered at Nook. “We love to mix trendy and timeless classics, only picking the pieces we love” say Nina and Lea. They are always on the lookout for teen brands that create collections for adolescents – this challenging age when they’re no longer a child but not yet an adult! At Nook, they and their customers like pieces that can’t be found elsewhere. Nina and Lea told us “We want to offer items that are special, yet classic. Garments and accessories that can be worn every day, are easy to combine, and feel good to wear!”. They also curate a selection of gifts for their teenage customers, though it can be challenging!

Teen brands in their store: Indee, Bisgaard, American Vintage, Collégien, Angulus, Designers Remix Girls, Maan, Pyrenex, Minimalisma, Veja, Sunchild, MarMar Copenhagen, Twee

Isola Bella

(Canada)

Isola Bella’s name means “beautiful island” and it’s an oasis for baby and children’s European fashion! They opened in 1982 with a dream of curating clothing that can’t be found anywhere else in Vancouver, and continue to uphold that dream today.

Their buyer, Julia, told us that they have carried up to 16 years old since the beginning. They wanted to offer their customers tasteful European fashion for this age group, which was hard to otherwise find. Having specialized in collections that carry sizes 12, 14, 16, and 18, parents know they can turn to Isola Bella for high quality pieces and colorways that can’t easily be found elsewhere. Julia says she hopes the teen market will continue to grow. “I want to give teens clothes that they can dress up and feel good in” she told us. The teen selection she curates in Isola Bella is designed to emphasize dressing for their own style, rather than wearing something because everyone else owns it too.

These teen labels are there: Ao76, Unlabel, Pom d’Api, Collégien, Longlivethequeen, Designers Remix Girls, Pyrenex, Sunchild, LMDI, Maan

The Milky Way

(Belgium)

The Milky Way is a kids and teen fashion store in the heart of Bruges, Belgium. Their buyer, Ruth, makes a careful selection of Belgian and European brands offering clothing, accessories, and shoes for ages 4 through 18. Ruth has observed her teen girls corner to be the fastest growing in The Milky Way. “They come in often with family, or they visit first with their friends to look around before heading to their moms,” she told us. “Their attention is really drawn by the Belgian brands like Indee, Morley, and Bellerose. Then they look towards other brands like Maison Mangostan in larger sizes,” Ruth has also observed.

She thinks the teen market will continue to grow, with a lot of cool and original brands entering the industry. Ruth also finds that there is still a gap in the market. She finds this the most interesting reason it will continue to grow!

Find them there: Indee, Maison Mangostan, Main Story, Mini Rodini, Bonmot, Morley, Bobo Choses

C’est Chou by Sienna

(The United States)

teen offer

C’est Chou by Sienna is a high end children’s retailer that is on a mission to offer a variety of unique, trend-setting clothes and accessories for girls ages 4 to 16. When curating their teen offer, their buyer Vivien told us she searches for things this age group will like, but that pushes their fashion sense a little further. “It’s so boring when they all dress the same!” says Vivien. “I do have some customers that like to wear something different. Some gravitate towards a pantsuit rather than a party dress,” she told us. In their former retail space, she observed that teen customers were more moody and quiet when shopping with their parents. When shopping with their friends, teens tended to be more bubbly and friendly. Vivien also finds that teens tend to imitate their moms when they shop.
